Dear B‘n’B Flossmoor Members,
We made it through the winter and now the warm weather is upon us. I’m glad to say that the cold weather didn’t deter our Club Members from stealing and retrieving banners! I was very pleasantly surprised to see eight − I said “8” − banners on the wall at our Spring Fling with Jerry Story on May 18. If you missed that 17-square dance, you missed a great time and the outstanding display of other club’s banners.
Congratulations to our 2008 graduates. These graduates have worked hard at learning the calls. Even the weather couldn’t dampen their spirits when the snow blew and the rain poured. So to Charlotte, Grace and Trudy - continue to dance and enjoy the dancing and the friendships you’ve made!
I’d like to commend all 22 of our Members who participated in the Mystery Dance in Valparaiso. We all had a grand square time! Afterwards most of the Club Members went out for a bite to eat at one of the local restaurants. The camaraderie was super!! Oh, by the way, those of you who attended the dance will be receiving a dangle to recognize your willingness to go into the “unknown.”
Back to business − we need Members to sign up to bring cakes for the cakewalks. I’d like to thank Dot, Charmaine, Diana and Joyce for bringing cakes for the April/May dances.
In closing, my recommendation to all our Members is to keep doing your part to keep our Club active and growing so more people can come to enjoy what we enjoy when we Square Dance.
